What a supporter actually does
Nobody rescues a child. Somebody funds the two years afterwards.
This page does not offer you a moment of heroism, because the work does not contain one. It offers the other thing, which is rarer: the part everyone agrees matters and nobody wants to pay for.
The gap, before the ask
The Swedish police recorded 185 reports of human trafficking in 2024. Eighteen prosecutions followed. There were no convictions, and Sweden has never convicted anyone of trafficking for forced labour. The law is not the problem. What happens to a case is.

You fund the two years nobody claps for
A trafficking case is not solved in a raid. It is solved by somebody sitting with a file for two years: chasing a residence permit, getting a witness to a hearing, keeping a placement from breaking down. That work has no photograph and no moment, which is exactly why it is the part that goes unfunded, and it is the part that decides whether a case reaches a court at all.
You put a trained adult in the room
The people who notice a change in a child first are the ones already around them: a teacher, a coach, a youth worker. Most of them see something and do not know what it means or where it goes. A supporter pays for the session that closes that gap, and for somebody being reachable afterwards by an adult who is worried about one specific child and is not ready to make a report.
You stay after the story ends
Getting out is an event and recovering is not. The treatment with the best evidence behind it runs six to twelve sessions, and what comes after runs for years: school, housing, a life that holds. A monthly gift is the only kind that matches the shape of that, which is why it is worth more here than a larger one-off.
You back an organisation that publishes what does not work
The most quoted figure in child protection is an odds ratio of 3.56 for children telling someone after a school programme. Adjusted properly it is no longer statistically significant, and this site says so on the programme it belongs to. Nobody is required to publish that. It is on here because an organisation that argues other people's numbers do not hold has to hold its own to the same line, and because you are entitled to know what your money is and is not buying.
End modern slavery and child labour
Take immediate and effective measures to eradicate forced labour, end modern slavery and human trafficking and secure the prohibition and elimination of the worst forms of child labour, including recruitment and use of child soldiers.
End abuse and exploitation of children
End abuse, exploitation, trafficking and all forms of violence against and torture of children.
End violence against women and girls
Eliminate all forms of violence against all women and girls in the public and private spheres, including trafficking and sexual and other types of exploitation.
Be the one who funds it
A standing amount each month is worth more to this work than a larger gift once, because the work is measured in years and can only be planned against money that arrives every month.
