Marianco protects children from trafficking, exploitation and abuse. A gift pays for prevention where children are most at risk, support for those already harmed, and the slow work of getting cases taken seriously. You can stop a monthly gift whenever you like, from any email we send.

How the payment works

Card payments are handled by Whydonate. We never see or store your card details. A monthly gift can be cancelled at any time, and a receipt is emailed for every donation.

What a gift pays for

  • A monthly gift

    Regular giving is what lets us plan. It pays for the parts of the work that take years rather than weeks, training adults who work near children, and staying with a family through a case.

  • A one-off gift

    Goes where it is needed at the time it arrives, most often to immediate support for a child and the non-offending parent after a disclosure.

  • Where the rest goes

    Some of every gift pays for the unglamorous things that make the rest possible: background checks on staff, supervision for people doing traumatic work, and a case system that does not lose a referral. We publish what we spend in the annual report.

Where it goes

Three programmes, one path

Gifts are unrestricted, so nothing here is a menu. A child reached by the first programme never needs the second, a child who does need it comes back through work the third pays for.

  1. PreventRecruitment happens somewhere specific, to someone specific, through someone the child already knows. Prevention means being in those places before it does.
  2. RehabilitateGetting out is an event. Recovering is not. The work that matters here is measured in years, and most of it is unglamorous and administrative.
  3. InformMost of what circulates about this subject is wrong, and the wrong version is what people act on. Publishing what the law and the sources actually say is the cheapest useful thing we do.
